Grateful minds, grateful hearts, grateful lives. November is Gratitude Month on some calendars. It makes sense with Thanksgiving always falling on the fourth Thursday of November. Giving thanks will be a theme for this coming Sunday in readings and music. Remembering and forgetting will also come into play. Remember: Sundays were made for Congregational Church of Laconia.

CHURCH CHRISTMAS CARD

SUPPORTS THE CAMPERSHIP FUND

The Educational Ministries Committee invites you and your family to sign the Church Christmas Card. By signing the card, you will be reaching hundreds of church members without the fuss of buying, signing, and posting lots of Christmas cards. There’s no specific dollar limit – just what you would spend on mailing Christmas cards to church friends.

All donations will go directly to the church’s Campership Fund. The Fund helps send Faith Formation kids to places like Horton Center on Pine Mountain where they experience God’s love in a caring community.  It also covers registration for youth to attend the Confirmation Retreat as well as the Regional Youth Event coming up in 2024.

Sign your name, make a donation to the Campership Fund, and we take care of the rest!  See us after any worship service in the Pleasant Street foyer November 26-December 17. Or send your donation to the Church Office indicating in the memo line “Campership Fund” and email: CatherineTokarz603@gmail.com so we can add your name to the Christmas Card. The list of names will appear in the December Tower Tidings with Christmas Greetings. Thank you!

The Diaconate/Caring Connections Historical Display

From now until the end of December, the historical displays for the Diaconate and Caring Connections(which is part of the Diaconate) will be up in the hallway at the elevator entrance.

There are communion items displayed, pictures of church members past and present, a timeline and other items. You can read about the history of both the Diaconate and Caring Connections along with what each of them do for our church today.

Here are a couple of fun facts:

  • The diaconate has always been a part of the church and has evolved over time. Caring Connections was started in our church in 2006.

  • In 1968, the deacons traveled to Guana to help the folks there build a church. There are pictures and a notebook displayed of this endeavor.

Please take some time to enjoy the history of the Diaconate and Caring Connections and get a glimpse into what both committees do for the church today
