The UCC is conducting a Vote for Climate Hope Art Contest. UCC children and youth are invited to draw, paint, or color about the world and the environment in which they want to live. An online award ceremony for finalists will be held on May 4, and the winning art will be featured on “Climate Hope Voter Pledge Cards” that church members throughout the UCC will collect during the summer and fall before Election Day.

It's Gonna Be a Great Day!

Yes, indeed, March 10th is going to be a great day! It's going to be great because we are dedicating our gifts to One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS)! One Great Hour shared by UCC congregations around the world is going to add up to an awe-inspiring day. And that day will lead to weeks, months, and years of Changed and Changing Lives. Your gifts to OGHS transform lives in myriad ways. Find out some of them at:  https://www.ucc.org/giving/ways-to-give/our-churchs-wider-mission/one-great-hour-of-sharing/

Re-IMAGINING THE PARISH HOUSE in 2024

April 7 at Coffee Hour and Conversation

As we celebrate our 200th Anniversary, we continue to follow the theme “Founded in Faith, Forward in Spirit”! Since our vote to Re-Name the Parish House at Annual Meeting, there have been many views shared about ways to identify and renew the building. New Paint and awnings? New Name? New Signs? Please attend this meeting to discuss, listen, and share ideas about any and all of these topics as we move forward to Re-Imagine the Parish House! (There will be a Zoom available to those who wish to participate from afar.)

PARISH HOUSE ???

“No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a clay pot” Luke 11:33

CEV

Where is 18 Veterans Square? How do you tell someone unfamiliar with the area

the location of our office? Do you say: “It is between the Library and the new

bank building , opposite the train station; it is the brown brick building between

“The Cake” with the white steeple and the stone church”?

In the weeks and months leading up to our 200 th birthday anniversary

the Parish House re-naming (or re-imaging) committee will be seeking

your input on what this building means to you and to the community.

We will provide many ways and opportunities for you to give us your

thoughts, as we hope to reach a consensus on what name, image, (icon,

if you will?) we wish to project/shine to Veterans Square and to the

world who we have been, who we are and who we aspire to be for our

next two hundred years. Let us no longer be described in relation to

buildings that are our neighbors.

Red River Theaters in Concord will be offering a series of films on Palestinian life in Gaza. The first film, Wednesday, March 20 at 7:00 PM, is “Killing Zone,” which focuses on the experiences of an Irish journalist in Gaza. The Irish are the strongest supporters of justice for the Palestinians because they have been through the struggle and are living proof that peace is possible.

Red River will show “The Angel of Gaza" Wednesday, April 3 at 7:00. Ten-year old Malak narrates her family's arduous journey of romance, sacrifice and reunification.

Both films will be followed by a discussion led by a Palestinian/American. Come, bring your questions and your heart.

The films are sponsored by the NHCUCC Peace with Justice Advocates and NH Peace Action.

A Lively Display

Take a walk through the elevator lobby of our church and you will be

rewarded with a trip through time. Photos and memorabilia from our church's

Educational Ministries past are sure to bring a smile to your face. You may see

some familiar faces if you have deep roots here. Spend some time examining

artifacts from last century - all the way back to 1910! Photos, pamphlets,

manuals, and handmade creations paint a portrait of how church life has evolved

over a large swath of our nearly 200 year old history. The display is colorful and

artfully arranged, and speaks to the vitality of our church both past and present.

Wear your coat - it's a chilly space - but well worth the detour!
