FORECAST FOR SUNDAY FEBRUARY 9, 2025

Due to the forecast of heavy snow from Saturday night into Sunday morning, we will not be holding our regular Sunday morning worship service. Instead, we will hold a brief service of morning prayer on zoom at 9:30a. The link is below.

We do not make decisions like this lightly. Worship is an integral part of all of our lives. But we don't worship just for the sake of worship; we do it to live out our love of God and neighbor. On snowy days, part of that love is staying off the roads so that our neighbors who are charged with clearing the roads and sidewalks, as well as those who are called to respond to emergencies, are able to do their work. Thanks to technology, we can care for those who have no choice but to be out in the storm, while still nourishing our own hearts and our community connections.

Be safe this weekend, and we'll "see" you Sunday morning.

We will collect "Souper Bowl of Caring" February 16, 2025

CARING CONNECTION GATHERING On February 18

Tuesday, held in the Church Hall.  We hope anyone who wants to help us with food, drives to health appts, and visiting church members, will come to enjoy coffee, and meet all those who help us and tell about what they do. See you on the 18th. Diane Wells if questions.

Wildfire Relief: Call to Prayer and Action

The United Church of Christ (UCC) is actively responding to the devastating wildfires that have ravaged Los Angeles County since January 7, 2025. With nearly 30,000 acres consumed and 180,000 people displaced, these fires represent the largest disaster in the county's history.

In this time of crisis, the UCC's Global HOPE team is collaborating with local conferences and ecumenical partners to provide immediate relief and plan for long-term recovery. Tragically, the Altadena Community Church, United Church of Christ, has been destroyed, underscoring the profound impact on our faith communities.

To learn how you can contribute to the relief efforts, please visit the UCC's California Wildfires 2025 Appeal page. Your support and prayers are vital in bringing hope and healing to those affected by this disaster.

Soup-er Bowl Sunday Returns

Not a football fan? No worries. A fan of helping our neighbors in need? You’ve come to the right place.

The Outreach Committee encourages you to bring a couple of cans of nutritious soup or other shelf stable food items to church on February 9th. Your donations will help us provide food to our neighbors in need as we stock our Little Free Food Pantry daily.

Can’t make it to church on Sunday, February 9th? No problem. Donations of food can be brought to church any Sunday or dropped off at the church office. Monetary donations can be sent directly to the church office.

Our neighbors in need will be the real winners with your generous support.
