 The Treasurer’s Cache

A monthly update from your Church’s chief financial steward.

August 2026

In the July Cash Flow Report, Pledges Paid and Loose Offerings totaled just over $8,000 while our budgeted amount for that period was about $10,600. That’s about a 25% shortfall. Anticipating this, the Congregation approved withdrawals of up to $118,108 from the Consolidated Fund to balance cash flow. Last month, we took another $35,000 from the Consolidated Fund, bringing the total withdrawals for the year so far to $70,000.

In the Good News department, we received about 22% more than expected in earnings and “prudent withdrawals” from our investment funds in July. Further, if you omit the second quarter OCWM payment that we made in July but had been budgeted in June, we were almost 10% under budget on total expenses for the month.

Also last month, we paid for the new high-efficiency lighting that has been installed throughout the lower level of the Church Building. The total cost of that project was about $18,350, but an incentive from Eversource paid for half of that. The remaining $9,175 was split evenly between the Capital Improvement Investment Fund, the Rita Brooks Income Investment Fund, and the Building Maintenance & Repair Fund, all designated for just such enhancements.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns regarding our Church’s finances, please feel free to contact me.
