Congregational Church of Laconia, UCC

Dear ones,

Thank you. I am still basking in the absolute joy of Installation Sunday, and of the grace and generosity that was on such display. Many thanks to the Parish Activities and Search committees for putting on an incredible party, with beautiful decorations and food enough for a small army. Thanks to the youth of the church, who were such an integral and meaningful part of the day. Thanks to Tim, Jaylene, Kathy, and Lorraine for the beauty of your musical talents. Thanks to Property and Finance for getting the carpet fixed and all the pews moved in and out. Thanks to the church staff - Bob, Mike, Carmen, Carolyn, and Chuck - who did so much behind the scenes to make the day as smooth and wonderful as it was.

But mostly, I give my thanks for you, the Congregational Church of Laconia, for welcoming me and my family with such love, for greeting my nerdiness with good humor, and for being willing to have deep conversations about what it means to be the church in this moment. You are a unicorn of a congregation, and I am so glad to be doing this ministry with you.

With affection,

Eliza

The church made a donation to the hurricane victims of Asheville, NC.

We were sent a request for diapers, all clothes and children's toys. It was nice Carolyn was able to fill the back of her truck with supplies from the medical room.

Laconia Pumpkin Fest Food Booth

at Laconia Congregational Church

Have a frightfully good time supporting our food booth at Laconia Pumpkin Fest!

The food booth will be open from noon to 8pm on Friday, October 25th and Saturday, October 26th (or until we run out of food). We are right in the middle of the action on Veteran’s Square and we get lots of traffic! We offer lots of yummy foods (hot dogs, chili, corn chowder, Frito pie, pumpkin rolls) and beverages (hot cider, hot chocolate, and coffee) for a reasonable price to festival goers.

There are a few ways you can help:

- Sign up for a shift (or more than one!!) working at the booth or in the kitchen. It’s a great way to spend time with friends and make new friends. We have FUN!

- Make or buy pumpkin rolls to sell at the booth (We have a great recipe)

- Donate food ingredients or money to purchase them

There will be sign-up sheets with more details at coffee hour. You can also call or text Kathy Giovanni (603-344-5718) or Hollis Thompson (512-970-6592)
