Healthy Relationships, Sexuality and Disability

The Healthy Relationships, Sexuality and Disability Resource Guide was created in 2014 by the Massachusetts State Sexual Violence Prevention Plan and with the help of young people with disabilities to promote health access and to prevent sexual violence and exploitation of that population.

The guide lists several adapted sexuality education resources that include books, CDs, websites, and other resources about: changing bodies and feelings; getting and giving respect; dating and relationships; developing sexual identity and orientation; finding medical information and social support; protecting from pregnancy, disease and abuse; and developing sexual health and well-being.

Parents of teens with disabilities often reach out to Parent Center staff for recommendations on these topics. If you have been looking for sexual health resources to share with parents, teachers and service providers, this is the Guide for you!
