The Uncredible Jan. 6 Committee
This week’s Washington corollary to the tree-in-the-forest thought experiment: If the Jan. 6 committee holds professionally polished hearings, amid wall-to-wall prime-time coverage, will anybody pay attention? If the answer is no, the committee will largely have itself to blame.
The prospect of public apathy is already deeply vexing the establishment. “Democrats have the steep challenge of convincing a disillusioned American electorate to tune into” the hearings, Politico worries. The Washington Post frets that even weeks of this miniseries may not “change hearts or minds.” The vexed are already laying blame. It’s the fault of Republicans who will “downplay” the findings, Americans who are too focused on gasoline prices, and Fox News for deciding not to air Thursday’s hearing live (although Fox Business and every other station said they would).

How Imprisoned ISIS Terrorists Obtain Cash and Legal Aid
Jihadist militants imprisoned in the United States are receiving cash and legal assistance from a website similar to Facebook that connects them with terrorist sympathizers and publicizes their location, including "GPS-coordinated satellite imagery of the facilities at which the inmates are held," according to a watchdog group.
"At least two incarcerated ISIS operatives maintain registered profiles on the website, suggesting the accounts were generated by the operatives themselves," according to a new investigation by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), a watchdog group that tracks jihadist behavior online. "Online ISIS supporters have raised awareness about ISIS operatives' profiles on the website, raising potential security risks." MEMRI is withholding the website's direct .....

Intelligence: Ukrainian Treasures
The war in Ukraine has produced another bonanza of Russian weapons for the U.S. Air Force to scrutinize. For over half a century the U.S. Air Force has been on the lookout for Russian aircraft, missiles and electronic systems that were operational or could be made operational for testing. Ukraine is currently providing everything but aircraft to evaluate. That’s fine because Russia hasn’t produced any scary and mysterious combat aircraft since the Cold War ended.
Electronics and missile systems are another matter.
Using captured or stolen enemy aircraft and equipment was a crucial aspect of World War II. If you knew the capabilities of enemy aircraft and electronics you could more easily defeat them.

"How AI Can Make Background Checks Smarter"
In today’s high-stakes deal making environment, yesterday’s due diligence background checks that rely on simple Google searches and personal references won’t cut it. What’s more, the COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated that investors can’t always rely on in-person interaction to evaluate potential business partners, and thus, risk management solutions need to hold up even when exchanges happen online.
When allocating significant capital to an individual or company, investors need to make sure they are placing their trust in worthy hands. This requires conducting pre-investment due diligence that goes beyond the standard DDQ and takes an.....

The Republican Study Committee’s Blueprint to Save America
Budget proposals rarely make for good reading, but this effort from House Republicans checks one important box after another.
“Don’t tell me what you value. Show me your budget, and I will tell you what you value.”
Joe Biden used to say that from time to time, but then he pretty much stopped taking budgets seriously and started spending us into oblivion.
In fairness to our “devout” Catholic president, though, his 2022 budget did show us how little he values human life. In it, he tried to eliminate the Hyde Amendment, which has for decades forbidden taxpayer funding for abortion on demand through Medicaid, Medicare disability, and other federal programs. He eventually caved to Republican demands, but he’s expected to pull the same vile stunt again in his 2023 budget. If he succeeds, more than 60,000 unborn babies will be aborted annually with your tax dollars.
Which brings us to the Republican Study Committee, the highly influential caucus of conservatives within the House of Representatives, which released a new budget proposal last Thursday for fiscal year 2023. In stark contrast to Biden’s budget proposal, this one clearly values life, and stronger family bonds.
The 122-page budget, which the RSC calls “The Blueprint to Save America,” can be found here. The committee has also released this one-page summary of the budget.
How can a budget “save America”? The Daily Signal lists at least 11 ways:.....

Why Western Civilization Is Going South
hy is so much of life out of control? Gas is becoming unaffordable, food is expensive. Crime has taken over major cities with career criminals freely roaming the streets. Corruption has become commonplace and no one is held to account. The FBI is no longer the revered institution it once was. Our borders no longer exist. Government is unresponsive. Our children are no longer being educated. We have lost trust in our election system and mass shootings are becoming frequent. To top it off, the current administration is scrambling to find a way to disarm citizens. All within the last 18 months.
I will say right off the bat that the reason so much of government changed for the better under the previous administration was that Trump was a nationalist. America came first and he owed no political favors. That is no longer the case. Only an idiot would restrict domestic oil production and then beg Saudi Arabia for oil. So, it must be the plan.....

Food Processing Plants Burning Down All Over the World, as Europe, Australia Prepare for Fuel Rationing
Food processing plants and distribution centers are now burning to a crisp in rapid succession, a peculiar trend that has been growing since 2021.
Just in the last weeks the U.S. has seen Taylor Farms, a packaged salad plant in Salinas, California, burn to a crisp; and the Azure Standard headquarters, “the nation’s premier independent distributor of organic and healthy food,” also was burned to smithereens.
Approximately 200,000 chickens are dead after a massive fire tore through a Minnesota egg farm over the long Memorial Day weekend. They delivered approximately 3 million eggs a day to large retailers.
Meanwhile, Ukraine and their WEF member President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are cashing in on what has quickly revealed itself as a staged campaign.....

The Left’s Dangerous Narrative: Right-wing Speech Is a Public Safety Threat
For the left, right-wing meme-makers and trolls are now an existential threat.
A recent piece by Amanda Seitz of the Associated Press demonstrates the paranoia the establishment media is all-too happy to stoke, depicting the growing communities of energetic and young right-wingers as public safety threats whose growth correlates to recent mass shootings.
In her article, Seitz paints a dark, horror-film portrait of an internet culture that, she argues, is a breeding ground for violence.
“The social media posts are of a distinct type,” Seitz writes. “They hint darkly that the CIA or the FBI are behind mass shootings. They traffic in racist, sexist and homophobic tropes. They revel in the prospect of a ‘white boy summer.’
“White nationalists and supremacists, on accounts often run by young men, are building thriving, macho communities across social media platforms like Instagram, Telegram and TikTok, evading detection....

Conservatism and the American Future
On this Saturday edition of “The Daily Signal Podcast,” three guests join us to discuss fault lines and emerging issues within American conservatism regarding culture, economics, and how the decline of important institutions continues to roil our society.
Our trio of commentators include Sam Gregg, research director at the Acton Institute; Arthur Milikh, executive director of the Center for the American Way of Life at the Claremont Institute; and Catherine Pakaluk, associate professor of economics at The Catholic University of America.
“We’re not living in the America of the 1980s,” Gregg observes, adding:
We’re living in a society which is arguably more fragmented, more divided, in which things that were unthinkable back in the 1980s—like men pretending that they’re women or whatever it....

Observing Our Way to Third-World Elections
On Sunday, June 5, two friends and I witnessed the absurdity of the California election process at the Orange County Registrar of Voters (ROV) facility in Santa Ana. As public observers, which anyone can do, we watched the ludicrous process that basically empowers temporary workers to become what can best be called “signature experts.”
These workers have immense authority in determining which ballots are valid and which might be fraudulent.
Third-world countries would probably reject the way ballot signatures are verified in Orange County.
The (mostly temp) ROV workers sit at computers comparing primary ballot signatures to registration signatures. About ten feet behind each worker, observers watch what they are doing on large monitors.
What my friends and I observed were ROV “signature experts” quickly reviewing eight signatures in approximately five seconds: four primary ballot signatures and four registration signatures.
Could you continually review eight signatures every five seconds?.....

REPORT: Grassroots parent activism grows nationwide
Grassroots parent activism, driven by outrage at school closures, critical race theory , and transgender ideology, has seen widespread growth nationwide almost two years after the movement first found its legs.
The vast majority of local parent groups have established themselves with little to no outside help, often via Facebook groups formed out of anger that local school districts did not have plans to offer in-person classes to students in the fall of 2020.
"The grassroots enthusiasm we've seen over the past 18 months from parents has been truly astonishing — the last time I can remember anything like this forming was during the Tea Party," Nicole Neily, the president of the national organization Parents Defending Education, told the Washington Examiner. "From coast to coast, disenchanted parents have found each other and coalesced around a few simple, discrete ideas: Parents should be involved in their children's education."
Neily's organization is one of several national groups that exist to help support local parent activist organizations in logistical and practical needs, ranging from how to petition a school board to how to organize with other local parents.
On its website , Parents Defending Education counts well over 200 independent local parent activism groups, some with thousands of members, in school districts across the country and in all 50 states. The organization also regularly adds new groups to its site as more groups, often motivated by the publicity surrounding existing groups, are formed. Another parent activist organization, Moms for Liberty, has 201 affiliated chapters of parent activists in 37 states, including 36 that were established in 2022 alone.
"Without a doubt, parents have recognized that there is strength in numbers — and courage is contagious! We've heard many stories where a local activist speaks up and then is contacted by dozens of people in their community who hold similar views," Neily said.

After Visiting 2022, Time-Traveling Noah Decides To Go Back And Sink The Ark
A time-traveler from the year 2348 B.C. who called himself Noah was seen getting in a heated argument outside a gay bar at the 'Drag Your Kids To Pride' event. According to sources, he loudly declared he needed to go back in time and sink the ark.
"I have to go back; I helped save a remnant of humanity and—well, I've made a huge mistake," said Noah as he stood in front of a neon "It's Not Going To Lick Itself" sign and watched kids stuff dollar bills in drag queens' underwear. "Humanity was a bad idea. I need to get back to my time and sink the ark and put an end to this."
Eyewitnesses described how the argument began over what the sign of the rainbow really means. However, things quickly grew heated over the scientific plausibility of the flood narrative in Genesis, and then became a shouting match over which movies get time travel right.
“How could Rufus be from a futuristic golden age, inspired by Bill & Ted’s music, if he has to go back in time to make sure they pass their history class keeping the Wyld Stallyns from being broken up by Ted’s father? Rufus can not establish his own past,” Noah could be heard shouting angrily. “In time travel lingo, it’s a bootstrap paradox. Google it, man!” .....

Biden Administration To Provide Grief Counselors At All Gas Pumps
In a move to help alleviate pain at the pump, the Biden Administration has announced a $1 billion initiative to provide grief and trauma counselors to stand by at all gas pumps across the nation.
The plan will fund licensed therapists and psychiatrists to stand at the ready at gas pumps from New York to California to comfort people mourning the loss of hundreds of dollars every time they fill up their tanks.
"There, there. It's gonna be OK," said one grief counselor as a woman filled up her VW at a gas pump in California. "Times like these can be difficult to cope with, but we can survive Putin's Price Hike if we look deep within ourselves for strength and guidance. Now, let's try some breathing exercises."
Another woman in Ohio burst into tears after paying over $3 for gas for the first time in her life....
