Canada Plans Complete Freeze on Handgun Ownership
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau introduced legislation to freeze handgun purchases and a “buy back” of military-style semi-automatic firearms Monday, according to a press release.
The legislation would prohibit future sales and importation of handguns, require all long gun magazines to be altered to hold no more than five rounds, ban sales and transfers of “high-capacity” magazines, and establish a “buy back program” for banned military-style semi-automatic firearms, including the AR-15.
“Today, we’re proposing some of the strongest measures in Canadian history to keep guns out of our communities and build a safer future for everyone,” Trudeau said in the press release.
“I don’t understand any buy back proposals are lawful, since the government never owned the property in the first place,” Mark Oliva of the National Shooting Sports Foundation told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “What this proposal is, is government confiscation of private property.”

International Study: Covid Vax Mandates Harmed Society
Population-wide Covid vaccine mandates and policies related to them, such as limiting unvaccinated people’s liberties, were not only scientifically questionable and unethical, but arguably caused considerable societal harm, found a new international study.
The paper, “The unintended consequences of COVID-19 vaccine policy: why mandates, passports and restrictions may cause more harm than good,” was authored by scientists from Johns Hopkins University, Oxford, Harvard, the University of Washington, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the University of Toronto, and Dalhousie University in Halifax, and published in the peer-reviewed BMJ Global Health.
The authors focus on the “counterproductive and harmful” outcomes of the vaccine mandates based on the analysis of four domains: “(1) behavioural psychology, (2) politics and law, (3) socioeconomics, and (4) the integrity of science and public health.”

Uvalde: The new face of policing
Anyone shocked by the behavior of the Uvalde P.D. during last week's mass shooting — in which dozens of officers milled around doing nothing (if not worse) while helpless victims were murdered — has to come to terms with the simple fact that this is the face of the new policing in the 21st century.
The story grows worse with each new detail. Cops took nearly twenty minutes to get to the school in a ten-minute-wide town. Once there, they entered the school, took some fire resulting in minor injuries, and fled — no Fallujah vets here. Outside, they harassed, attacked, and arrested fearful parents begging them to do their jobs. At some point, a number of off-duty Border Patrolmen arrived but were denied permission to engage. As many as eighteen locals finally entered the school, but their tac chief decided it had transformed into a "barricade situation," which, according to the book, evidently means that no action is necessary, so instead, they moped about in the hallway. At last, after an hour and a quarter — not forty-five minutes, not an hour — the Border cops took matters into their own hands (one of them armed with a shotgun he borrowed from his barber), burst into the room, and finished the shooter off.

Methodist Church’s First Drag Queen
Pastor: ‘God Is Nothing’
Last year, the United Methodist Church accepted Isaac Simmons, who regularly preaches dressed as a drag queen under the name Ms. Penny Cost, as a candidate for ordination. Since that time, Simmons, who serves as an associate pastor at Hope United Methodist Church in Bloomington, Illinois, has challenged basic theological concepts, projecting a worldview where divinity rests not in God but in queerness.
In a church preparing to split over LGBTQ issues, the drag queen pastor, who embraces queer theology while barely attempting to plaster on the basic tenets of Christian theology, has become a lightning rod. Conservatives argue that Simmons’ role as a celebrated figure among progressive Methodists proves the church has become so radically liberal as to forswear Christ.
Progressives promote Simmons and invite him to preach in drag as a way to challenge the conservative position on sexuality that the denomination officially still takes.
The United Methodist Church was ready to split in 2020, but that has been postponed until 2024 because its quadrennial general conference was canceled due to COVID-19.

1.35 million new illegal immigrants settled
in U.S. under Biden, study shows
The U.S. has added more than 2 million immigrants to its population since President Biden took office in 2021, the vast majority of them here illegally, according to a new report Wednesday that says most of the newcomers are arriving illegally.
The surge is so overwhelming that it’s pushed up the projected point at which the U.S. will have its largest-ever share of immigrants, according to the Center for Immigration Studies.
At the current pace of growth, 14.9% of residents will be immigrants as of sometime next year, topping the record set around the turn of the 20th century. That’s half a decade earlier than the Census Bureau’s last calculation, said Steven A. Camarota, the center’s director of research and the lead author of the new report.
“I’ve been at this a long time, when people used to say we’re never going to come up to that level. It looks like we’re going to blow past it some time next year,” Mr. Camarota told The Washington Times.

China Moves to Buy Forbes
A Chinese-government-controlled company has put in an offer to buy Forbes, the major American news company that built its name on financial analysis.
According to the Free Beacon, Magnum Opus, the CCP-controlled company in question, announced its intent to acquire the property last August. Now, that deal looks to be nearing completion, and it’s drawing outrage from Republicans who are pointing out what a major security risk the move represents.

Where are all the men?
On May 28, Sky News Australia posted a video titled "New York bearing signs of 'societal decay.'" The video shows a man (who seems as if he is on drugs) entering a train car and sitting next to a young woman. He then touches her without consent, grabs her, drags her around a bit, and generally is an extremely unpleasant nuisance. He eventually leaves her alone and proceeds to try to kick out one of the windows.

If there is any maxim religiously observed by the corporate news media, it is this: “If it bleeds, it leads.” Moreover, if the blood in question gushes from gunshot wounds inflicted by a deranged mass murderer, the major news outlets uniformly portray the crime as evidence of an ever-increasing wave of violence caused not by criminals but by their weapons. American Femininity vs. American Feminism
Girlhood in America isn’t about oppression, and making girls the victims of society is not a way to bring about the sort of innovations that sustain a society. And yet the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History has in many ways reduced girls and their importance in American history and society on that alter of oppression. The museum seems to pose the theory that girls and women are only valuable for going against society’s standards.
The exhibit in question is called “Girlhood, It’s Complicated.” It can be experienced online. As you go through the exhibit, it is very obviously marketed for children. The language is simple and easy to follow. Sadly, it abuses the fact that children aren’t yet critical thinkers by saying things like:
- “Schools undervalue girls because women are undervalued in the workplace.”
- “In the 1800s, science was for girls … In the 1900s, science was for boys.”
These sweeping statements lack a lot of substantive backing or give vague anecdotal evidence. They lead the viewer to judge the claims through a very limited lens. This is a very narrow way to view history and leaves out much-needed context that would promote deeper understanding. Take, for example, another blanket statement that’s featured in the wellness section: “Not everyone gets a period.” This very 2022-centered statement is meant to include gender-confused and intersex people. It’s a way for the curators of this exhibit to thumb their noses at the historical and biological understanding of what a girl is by inserting their 2022 woke perspective.

Op-Ed: The Truth About the Separation of Church and State
The Bible clearly teaches that today there is to be an institutional separation of church and state. To think otherwise is to believe in a theocratic or sacerdotal form of government.
What the Bible does not teach — and what the secularist would like to say the U.S. Constitution supports — is an influential separation of church and state. Clearly, however, such thinking is not supported in the Constitution or the Scriptures.
“Render unto Caesar” is one of the biblical passages that support the idea of institutional separation. Let us examine this more closely from a historical perspective.

How Washington Created the Infant Formula Crisis
At first glance, "Operation Fly Formula" is a commendable example of swift government action to help ordinary people. Faced with a terrifying shortage of infant formula, the Biden administration acted to bring in supplies from Germany.
First lady Jill Biden was at Dulles International Airport Wednesday to welcome the arrival of 60 tons of formula and promise that the administration "won't stop until all parents can get the formula all their children need."
From this heartening spectacle, you would not realize that the problem being addressed is one this same government did much to create. Companies all over the world produce baby formula. But almost none of it is consumed by American babies, because our trade policy is ingeniously designed to keep it out.

The Government Culture of Death
When the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche proclaimed that God was dead, he didn't mean it literally, as that would have been impossible. He meant that God's creatures have so failed to acknowledge Him and relate to Him, it is as if He decided to end His own existence.
Stated differently, Nietzsche recognized that Christianity had ceased to be influential in contemporary life. Though properly rejected as a madman, he reminded the world that the loss of virtue can only be sustained from the bottom up, not from the top down.

June marks LGBTQI+ Pride Month — a month honoring those who are "lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex."
This ever-expanding rubric revolves around a particular value system entirely embraced by the modern Left: the notion that a person's core identity ought to lie not in the relationship between individual desires and societal duties, but instead ought to revolve around a subjective sense of self, unverifiable by the world at large and justified against all societal roles and rules.
