Village Library welcomes new students during summer session
Each summer, Mission Central's Village Library hosts a short, six-week session for students. This summer, the session was used to welcome 15 new students to our program.

To help get the children excited about the school year ahead, the summer session has been filled with fun, educational activities. They've heard from people who work in a variety of careers, learned to build a soda-bottle rocket, and will finish the summer with a pancake party to reinforce what they've learned about fractions and measuring.

When school starts at the end of August, these students will join 40+ other students who come to the Village Library twice a week to receive help with their homework. To make sure these children receive the one-on-one assistance that will help them succeed in school, we need at least fifteen new volunteers to join us in the fall. If you have one hour a week (or more!) to help with the Village Library program, please contact Catherine Hollis at catherine.hollis@missioncentraltx.org or 817-595-0011.
Charity Ride program benefits Mission Central
The Drivers Edge, a high performance driving school, periodically hosts a Charity Ride program. For $25, a person can experience the thrill of riding in a high performance car while being driven by one of the company's experienced instructors.

At their July event, 19 people enjoyed a high-speed ride and their $25 donations were shared with Mission Central. The $475 raised will be used to help Mission Central empower our neighbors in need to improve their own quality of life.

Thanks to Rick Schwalenberg and The Drivers Edge team for their support of Mission Central!
Mark your calendars for North Texas Giving Day
The 8th annual North Texas Giving Day is set for September 22!

On that day, gifts of at least $25 made to Mission Central from  www.northtexasgivingday.org will be multiplied by bonus funds and prizes. (Learn more about bonus funds and prizes  here.)

Last year, generous donors around the world raised $33 million for 2,020 North Texas non-profits on North Texas Giving Day. It's a fun day when you and your neighbors can join together to make our community a better place.
