Veteran’s Day (Nov. 11) offers an opportunity to reflect and appreciate the service, sacrifice, honor, and commitment made by those who have served our country. To the veterans among us, thank you for your service.
A new initiative recently launched with the goal of assisting veterans and military personnel transitioning into civilian careers. The Greater Sacramento Veterans & Transitioning Military Workforce Collaborative (GSVC), led by Robert Bosch Semiconductor LLC and the Placer County Business Advantage Network, is working to create a supportive network that empowers veterans and strengthens the local economy by linking skilled candidates with regional employers. The Placer County Department of Economic Development will share further details about how businesses can get involved as the program gets underway.
North Tahoe Chamber Executive Director, Kimberly Brown, brings you the highlights of this month’s edition of the North Tahoe Chamber Business and Community News.

In collaboration with multiple entities from around Lake Tahoe, the North Tahoe Chamber undertook a series of business walks to gauge the region’s economic success and the business community’s needs. More than 30 volunteers connected with over 500 businesses around Lake Tahoe. The Tahoe Prosperity Center will create a report from all the data collected which will help our respective organizations consider future services and programming to support our business community. Once that report, anticipated in mid-December, is finished, it will be shared through this newsletter as well as future community meetings.
