Greetings from New York!

The fall semester is now in full swing and the campus abounds with speakers, events and programs. I invite you to read these snippets about some of the activities that make an Adelphi learning experience more meaningful.

IMPACT—Ice Cream Icons Share Enduring Commitment to Social Justice

Few entrepreneurs become household names or serve as exemplars of corporate social responsibility as Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield —of Ben & Jerry's ice cream fame—have. They spoke to a sellout audience of students and alumni on campus, recalling their astonishing success story and how a business philosophy of community well-being informed their venture from its earliest days. A dozen students had the remarkable privilege of conversing with the ice cream icons before the main program, which was sponsored by the Hagedorn Lecture on Corporate Social Responsibility.
INNOVATION—FinTech—Corporate Innovations Changing the World of Finance
The esoteric world of FinTech and trends in corporate financial innovations were vividly brought home through a captivating and insightful presentation by Svetla Marinova '10 , vice president of innovation at the New York office of the Dutch pension fund management company APG Asset Management. Marinova spoke as part of the Practitioner's Perspective Lecture Series, a program that introduces our students and faculty to cutting-edge topics and business world applications.
ENGAGEMENT—Networking Event Engages Accounting Alumni

The Accounting Society student organization hosted its annual networking event—a fabulous evening gathering that brought together all the students and faculty in the program with leading accounting and professional services firms, many alumni and University bigwigs. The program gives the Willumstad School the opportunity to showcase its accounting students for prospective employers and also to connect alumni with their alma mater.
