June 2018
Dear Fellow Deans,

Greetings from Garden City, New York!

Summer in the Northeast is almost here! Although the campus is less hectic, a whole slew of activities—summer classes, high school camps, alumni events—are keeping the place abuzz. I hope you are able to take a break from the frenetic pace that characterizes our lives as deans. I plan to do so.

IMPACT—Newly Minted Talent

At the 122nd Commencement ceremonies, held at Nassau Coliseum, the Willumstad School graduated 206 students. Eighty-six students received an M.B.A. and M.S. in Supply Chain Management degrees. The graduates included a cohort of healthcare professionals from St. Francis Hospital who obtained their M.B.A. degree (pictured above). We offer our M.B.A. program at the site of healthcare organizations in a cohort format, meeting the needs of busy, employed professionals in Long Island's biggest industry.

ENGAGEMENT—Scholarship Donors Recognized
Like you, we are very grateful to our many friends and alumni who give generously to create scholarships that enable us to make our college degree a bit more affordable for our students and to allow us to recruit the best students to come here. At our annual Student Honors and Awards Ceremony , we thanked our many donors and congratulated the scholarship winners. We also inducted students into the Beta Gamma Sigma and Beta Alpha Psi honor societies at the event. INNOVATION —Curriculum Incorporates Test Preparation

The fifth year of our accounting program now incorporates CPA Exam material and a coaching regimen from Becker Professional Education , a global leader in professional and educational test preparation. At no additional charge to students, this major curriculum innovation ensures every one of our accounting students will be fully prepared to master the material and take on the CPA Exam.
