Adelphi's Social Work Programs Rank Among the Best
The School of Social Work consistently ranks among the best in social work education. On the list of 251
Best Graduate Schools
nationwide in
U.S. News & World Report'
s latest rankings, the School is ranked No. 38 or among the top 15 percent in the country. “The high ranking speaks to the vibrancy of our faculty, the quality of their scholarship and the School's active leadership in the profession," said
Andrew Safyer, Ph.D.
, the School’s dean.
The School Achieves Full Reaccreditation for Eight Years
During the past several years, the School has been engaged in its reaccreditation at both the undergraduate and master's degree levels to ensure that it is in compliance with the standards put forth by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), its accrediting body. This process entailed the School's submission of a self-study document in April 2017 that described its programs' missions and goals, curriculum, commitment to diversity and inclusion, attention to student development and success, faculty scholarship and dissemination, and administrative structure and resources, and that also demonstrated achievement in its program competencies.
In Fall 2017, the School hosted CSWE site visitors to verify what was in its self-study and learn more about its program and its delivery. “At its February 2018 meeting, we received full accreditation for eight years for both programs with no concerns or progress reports,” Dean Safyer said.
