New York Secure Choice Savings Program

New York State has launched a new initiative aimed at expanding retirement savings access—and it’s one business owners should be aware of.

The New York Secure Choice Savings Program requires certain employers who don’t offer a retirement plan to provide access to the state-sponsored option, allowing employees to save for the future through payroll contributions.

Employer eligibility

You’re required to register and facilitate the program if you meet all of the following criteria:

• Have 10 or more employees
• Do not offer a qualified retirement plan
• Have been in business for at least two years

If you fall into this category, you will need to either:

• Register for the Secure Choice program, or
• Establish your own retirement plan.

We suggest business owners connect with their payroll provider regarding the setup process and any associated costs of implementing this program. While we are unable to assist with enrollment in the New York Secure Choice, we’re here if you’d like to explore retirement plan options that may offer even greater benefits for your employees and your business.

Medicare Open Enrollment Season

Changes to Medicare plans are coming—Open Enrollment is your opportunity to make sure you’re in the plan that fits you best.

If you’re on Medicare, you may have recently received a letter saying your current Medicare plan is changing—or in some cases, even going away. That can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Andrea True, our Certified Medicare Agent, is here to walk you through your options and help you find the plan that’s right for you.
