All of our offices will be closed on Friday, April 18, to provide our team a
well-deserved break following the close of tax season.
Return e-file authorizations promptly
We want to remind you that we cannot file your tax return until we receive your signed e-file authorization form. This form is provided to you along with your completed return. By signing it, you acknowledge that you have received and approved the return before we can e-file it on your behalf.
To make this process as convenient as possible, you have two options:
- Wet Signature – Print, sign manually, and return the form to us.
- Electronic Signature – Sign the form securely online for added convenience.
Please return your completed form as soon as possible to avoid any delays in filing your tax return.
Please Be Aware
With the tax deadline quickly approaching, our team is working diligently to process all returns. However, due to timing constraints, some returns will need to be placed on extension.
Note: Filing for an extension with the IRS is a common practice and not considered a red flag. The IRS acknowledges that extensions can help tax filers ensure the accuracy of returns. Rushing to meet the deadline can lead to mistakes, so taking advantage of the extension period can contribute to a more accurate filing.
- Filing an extension simply moves the filing deadline from April 15 to October 15.
-
If you anticipate receiving a refund on your return, no action is required on your part at the time the extension is filed.
-
If you typically end up owing on your return, your accountant will advise that you submit an estimated payment at the time the extension is filed to avoid any penalties.
