Maintaining Your Gutters

Gutters and downspouts work hard to protect your house from moisture damage. If gutters leak or downspouts are clogged, water can spill out and accumulate near foundations, soaking the soil and causing foundation walls to settle.

In worst-case scenarios, moisture-laden soil presses in on basement walls, causing bulging and cracking. Water can even be forced inside by means of hydrostatic pressure.

Keeping gutters and downspouts in good condition requires regular maintenance. Doing this chore twice each year -- in spring and in the fall.  it can be messy," But it's definitely worth it."

Peachtree Corners Property Maintenance Code IPMC 304.7 Roofs and drainage: The roof and flashings shall be sound, tight, and not have defects that admit rain. Roof drainage shall be adequate to prevent dampness or deterioration in the walls or interior portion of the structure. Roof drains, gutters and downspouts shall be maintained in good repair and free from obstructions. Roof water shall not be discharged in a manner that creates a public nuisance.

Voting in City Elections

As a resident of Peachtree Corners, I can certainly understand your disappointment on learning that you will need to visit two separate locations to cast your vote. Please let me explain.

Gwinnett County Board of Registrations and Elections has a policy that due to the large number of municipalities (cities) within the county, it does not contract with cities to hold municipal elections. Therefore, all 16 cities in Gwinnett County must hold their own elections at separate polling locations.Read more ...
