Through following sustainable practices and/or working directly in the green economy to help address the climate crisis as well as building equality and democracy in the workplace, worker co-ops can help transform our world to a better economy, society, and environment for everyone.

Arts and Culture Grant Winner Chosen
CWCF is pleased to announce that after reviewing the six submissions received, it has decided on the winner for this year’s arts and culture grants. Eyemole Arts and Technology Co-operative received a $1000 grant, funded through a bequest from the late CWCF President Mark Goldblatt, to create an online interactive story about the history of co-ops.
CWCF Commits Four Technical Assistance Grants to Worker Co-ops
As part of our expanded Technical Assistance grants program, CWCF committed grants to four worker co-ops in our May round of funding; each between $3,000 - $3,500. The grants are for the following activities in a variety of worker co-ops:
 
  • Options to take advantage of new policy measures to assist journalism in Canada
  • Membership Accessibility Fund
  • Legal advice on acquisition of another business
  • Feasibility study for a new assembly operation for an existing worker co-operative

Co-operatives and the Social Economy Conference: November 1 - 3 , 2019, University of Winnipeg
The objective of this conference is to bring together students, co-operators, social entrepreneurs, government and researchers to exchange knowledge on the co-operatives and the social economy in Canada.
The Canadian Worker Co-operative Federation (CWCF) is a national, bilingual grassroots membership organization of and for worker co-operatives, related types of co-operatives (multi-stakeholder co-ops and worker-shareholder co-ops), and organizations that support the growth and development of worker cooperatives. CWCF's e-newsletter is available free of charge to anyone with an e-mail address and an interest in worker co-operative developments in Canada.
