This month, we have previews on more upcoming features
Version 4.5 Previews

Version 4.5 is releasing this month!  We're going to give a few final previews of features this month.

First, the new options screen.  Many settings are spread throughout the program, currently, and the number of settings has been overwhelming to customers in the past.  We're trying to make these as concise as possible:

Below, for example, are the settings that were formerly under used/tradein options in the tools menu:

While this will not be a screen that you have to go into terribly often, we hope that it'll make the times when you need to easier!
Driver's License Scanning

We're also excited to announce support for an often requested feature, the ability to scan a driver's license and have it autofill many of the fields in the customer screen.  This is working with a specific scanner, with software loaded onto it to parse.  At present, it supports licenses from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia - New Mexico does not have a compatible barcode at this time.

How this will work in practice is a button you click that will prompt you to scan the license in as you are adding the customer.  Exactly what information you will get varies from state to state, but one example is included below:

In many cases, this will even fill in expanded information:

The scanner, which is a presentation scanner that can be used to scan items as well, will sell for $499.  While you can order the scanner today, the driver's license scanning will be added in version 4.5.
Computer Special

These were very popular last month, and we were able to get a few more of the units in, so we're continuing the special on refurbished HP computers.

These units are $249, and are Windows 7 Pro computers with 4 GB of RAM and 160 GB hard drives.  This price includes software configuration.  Contact sales at (919) 387-7597 x100 to order today.
The current version of the software, available for supported users, is 4.0.1.  If you want to get back on support, contact sales at (919) 387-7597 x100.
