Version 4.5 Released

Version 4.5 has released.  Just go on  our website for an updated manual.

As a reminder, we released major enhancements to the user interface with this version.  If you don't want to change before the holidays, you can hold off on applying the update right now.  However, we feel they'll be quick to learn, and that it's an improvement.

We're going to go over some of the changes here to remind you what you'll see.  Above, is the new login screen.  This one is for Musicware users; Praiz and ExtremePOS users will see a different logo.  Now, you will login as soon as you go into the program instead of later on before the register screen.

Upon logging in, you'll see your personal dashboard.  Depending on the cashier's permissions, you can configure the software to show you a variety of quick reports.  Some are graphical and some are table reports.  You can customize your dashboard layout from the menu on the main screen.  Other store management functions such as employee management, store options, database backups, and vendor database actions are also consolidated onto the main screen.
Probably the most important changes are to the invoice screen layout changes, shown below:

All the functionality you had before is still there, but in a simpler, more touch-screen friendly layout that will be more intuitive and easier for your employees to navigate.  For example, you now have on-screen buttons for common functions such as deleting items, selling a non-inventory item and selling a gift card.

Driver's License Scanning

We are pleased to announce that we're adding a second option for the drivers license scanners.  As opposed to the presentation scanner that we featured in this space last month, this is a more traditional hand held scanner, in the style of most of the ones we have sold.
The functionality is largely identical, and this scanner is a more economical option than the presentation scanner at only $299.

Inventory Maintenance

With 4.5 complete, our attention is turning towards the next areas of the software to be modernized, Inventory Maintenance and Label Printing.  We welcome your feedback on what you'd like to see in this area, though we will say up front that we're interested in simplifying your data entry burden: for example reducing the amount of tabbing between screens necessary in editing items at times.
