Our support group for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) wants everyone to know that it is Suicide Prevention Month. As such they are supporting the Newton-Rockdale Suicide Prevention Coalition to provide information and education to our community:
Sounds of Support:
On Friday September 27th, there will be a free, all ages, multi-genre, concert and health/wellnesss fair on the Covington Square. (Members of FPC will participate in the concert!)
Volunteers are needed
with golf carts who might be willing to shuttle drivers for the evening. Volunteers are also needed on the square at the close of the concert at 8:30 pm for clean-up.
Benefit Dinner Props:
NAMI is also in process of planning next winter’s benefit dinner with decorative props. As summer comes to a close, if you have any left over pool noodles that you might be willing to donate, please don’t throw them away. When in doubt, recycle.
Remember to save the date of January 25, 2020 for a Pirates Treasure Hunt at Salem United Methodist Church.
