REVIVAL P ART 2  RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY                                                           THE ARTSXCHANGE CELEBRATES NEW ENERGY IN A "NEW" SPACE

The ArtsXchange celebrates our renaissance at Revival Part 2 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Reception and Tour on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 11am to 2pm. There will be an infusion of new energy in a "new" space on 2148 Newnan Street, East Point, Georgia. We decided to plant our roots here in an historical site for education, the former Jere Were Elementary school named for a much-loved Fulton County superintendent, later becoming the Romar Academy.  Now restored as the new home of the Southeast Community Cultural Center, also known as the ArtsXchange. A place to gather all disciplines, all cultures, all voices that care to be sheltered here.
Our presence is an invitation to artists and audiences to come build on old traditions that propel us into our 36th year. Come discover new traditions, new and deeper collaborations. The ArtsXchange, a community incubator, is a place for people, ideas and actions. We open our doors to artists, artists cooperatives, arts organizations, community organizations, entrepreneurs and community residents (of all ages.)
We want to be for East Point and ourselves, an economic engine, attracting economic and artistic development monies and support for free classes, mentorship programs, affordable summer and spring break arts adventures. Films in the Paul Robeson Theatre. Poetry or a meeting in the Ebon Dooley Community Space. The multiple dimensions of visual arts in the Jack Sinclair Gallery. Revival Part 2 presents the opportunity for artistic exploration and community expression in one place: The ArtsXchange.
Visit  www.artsxchange.org  for more information on Revival Part 2 free tickets, sponsorship or volunteering. Reach us by phone at 404-624-4211.

Dr Love is a veteran of the radio industry having engineered, managed, programmed and trained radio personalities and administrative persons at several FM radio stations around the nation.  Some of the stations he has engineered in the start-up phase include KKFI (Kansas City),   KABF (Little Rock),  KNON (Dallas) and more.  One of the achievements he is most pleased with is spearheading a campaign to raise funds to increase the power of community radio station WRFG-FM (Atlanta) to 100,000 watts.  While also at WRFG - Mr. Davis created a program called 'World Party' featuring music from around the world.

An exciting feature of the WRFG-FM's World Party program involved Mr.
Davis conducting live remote broadcasts around the  world from such places as Ireland, Europe, Central America, South America, The Caribbean,
 Africa and other locations.

ATLANTA BLUES SOCIETY
Founded in 1995, the Atlanta Blues Society promotes and preserves the blues through an innovative Blues in the Schools program, a weekly blues calendar, charitable events, monthly support of the Blue Flame Fund to assist blues musicians in need, and partnerships with Atlanta's KBA awarded clubs, Darwin's and Blind Willie's. Since its inception, the ABS has grown to 400 members and has attracted 30 local sponsors. In addition to creating paying gigs for local bands, the ABS works with local music camps, providing scholarships for young musicians. The society also supports its IBC contestants each year by filming and recording all acts who compete and giving each entry their recorded set in hi-def video and mixed down multi-track audio, and the ABS winners receive as much studio time as needed to record a master disc, all free of charge.  Perhaps most importantly, the ABS supports sustainable and popular charitable events including Blues Stotts, which raises money for cystic fibrosis care and research in memory of founding ABS member Larry Stotts. The ABS is particularly proud of its Georgia Blues & Roots Festival, its Georgia Music Legends Award, and its annual Toys for Tots drive.
