Voters in Placer Have More Choice and Control This Election Year

Rather than assigned polling places, the California Voter's Choice Act model employs regional vote centers available for in-person voting. Voters can also bring their vote-by-mail ballot to any vote center and use the ballot scanner to have it counted on-site, ensuring it will be included in the preliminary results released on election night.

Community Partner Spotlight

An annual 10-day mountain Mardi Gras festival featuring over 40 events that take place in Tahoe City and Kings Beach, SNOWFEST is a North Lake Tahoe tradition that dates back to 1981. When it started, the event’s mission was to promote Tahoe’s incredible weather and skiing early in March, to encourage tourism to the area at a traditionally off-season time of year, and to provide an opportunity for locals to get out and enjoy Tahoe at its winter’s finest. That tradition continues today, with family-friendly SNOWFEST events planned from Thursday, February 29 through Sunday, March 10, 2024.
