I am happy to share that on July 1st, 2020, I will become Senior Rabbi of Temple Emanuel in Kensington, Maryland, subject to their congregational approval which will take place in the coming months. Temple Emanuel is the oldest Reform congregation in Montgomery County, founded in 1952. Following the retirement of Rabbi Warren Stone, I will become the third Senior Rabbi in their history.
I am so grateful to all of you for allowing me to serve Temple Sinai. It has been a great privilege to work with Rabbi Roos and this incredible cadre of smart, kind, and innovative staff and lay-leaders. I will miss seeing you around the building and sharing your lives with you. Shalom, Eliza, Simon, and I truly feel blessed to have been part of this terrific community.
I will continue to serve Temple Sinai through the end of June. I hope I will have a chance to thank you in person for so greatly enriching my rabbinate and my life during my time here.
Thank you for the past six years. I pray that our paths will continue to cross in the future.
L’hitraot, (see you again)
