Despite the COVID-19 pandemic‘s impact on commercial air travel, the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) has continued to land new tenants within the airports Aviation Business Park.
Most recently, MMR Constructors signed a long-term hangar lease with BTR to relocate its corporate jet fleet to Baton Rouge. Corporate aircraft activities represent a major portion of the General Aviation business at BTR.
Another new BTR tenant is aircraft maintenance provider Clear2Fly, Inc. out of Orlando, FL. Clear2FLY aircraft mechanics will provide on-call and overnight maintenance services for the commercial airlines serving BTR. With airline flights at BTR are back to nearly 70% of the pre-coronavirus levels, there is a growing need for the Clear2Fly aircraft services. (Passenger volume at BTR was nearly 10% higher than the national average for airports in 2020.)
As Louisiana’s second largest commercial service airport, BTR also leases property that surrounds the airport, which is commonly referred to as “non-aeronautical” real estate. Many available parcels are located adjacent to busy intersections or thoroughfares that fit the needs of businesses such as convenience stores, restaurants, retailers and others. Parcels in BTR’s Aviation Business Park meet the needs for a wide range of both aviation (runway-accessible sites) and non-aviation businesses, providing secure locations with direct access to major transportation options.
The BTR offers competitive leasing rates, economic incentives, and many other advantages. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about our available facilities and sites within the Aviation Business Park.
