Welcome Spring

We appreciate our Social Workers! As we close out the month of March, we want to honor and celebrate all of our Social Workers, both from our staff and the many Fulton County School Social Workers who refer families to The Drake House! March is National Professional Social Work Month. An opportunity for social workers and their supporters around the world to educate the public about the invaluable contributions of the profession. Our Social Workers are an invaluable addition to our residents and organization! Social workers work to empower and elevate millions of people, including some of the most vulnerable in our society. We are so very grateful for them! Please join us in celebrating them as we welcome Spring with 24 families and 48 children in residence.  Wishing you a blessed Easter Season! Kathy Swahn Executive Director

On March 19 th  The Drake House held our first Referral Partner Lunch and Learn. Our Family Intake Coordinator, Kelli Tolbert, saw the need for our partners to know about relevant resources that are beneficial to families in need. Our speaker was Jennifer Alexander, MSW who provided information on her role as the Coordinated Entry Assessment Social Worker for North Fulton. We had a fantastic turnout with multiple agencies in attendance. We are looking forward to our next meeting in May.

Community Support

Marshall's Selects The Drake House The Drake House was selected as the Charity Partner for the Grand Opening of Marshall's on Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell. The $10,000 will be applied towards funding our After School Program.

TDH Awarded with Community Grant The Drake House was one of the 9 nonprofit organizations in Metro Atlanta honored and awarded with $99,500 in community grants from the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation.

Making An MMMPact Members of the MMMPact Committee came to tour The Drake House and present this check of $30,000 to our organization. These generous funds will support our programs and services for our residents. Thank you MMM Law! We are so grateful to be your 2019 charity partner.

Neighbor to Neighbor Spotlight

Temple Kehillat Chaim has been a N2N apartment sponsor at The Drake House since 2006. Throughout the years, they have supported TDH and TDV with work group volunteers, event sponsorships, financial support, advisory council, board leadership and so much more. Most recently, they switched to sponsoring a new apartment at The Drake Village, where they will continue to provide bi-monthly budget counseling. Earlier this year, their synagogue held a casino night to raise funds for The Drake House. Pictured to the right is the check presentation from event proceeds.

Congratulations to Lisa Stevens, long-time volunteer at The Drake House, for being selected as Roswell’s 10 Under 40.  For the past six years, Lisa has volunteered in a variety of opportunities at The Drake House, including our 2018 Sip, Savor, and Support Chairperson and The Drake House Advisory Council.
