Strength of Community
In collaboration with other business-serving organizations, we have just released a county-wide survey to help gauge the health of our local businesses, nonprofits and public sector entities. I invite you to participate in the Humboldt Economic Survey (one per business, please) to share how your business is doing.
Over the past few months, we have seen a number of shifts in policy and programs at the federal level which are expected to have a trickledown effect on our community – the degree to which we do not yet know. That’s why we are checking in with you now, and will continue to do so.
Preparing for what looks to be some economically unstable times, we will need to pivot the way we do business in tangible ways. Leveraging collaboration will be key.
In this vein, we are partnering with Humboldt Made, Chambers of Commerce across the county, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and other business-serving organizations to launch a revitalized Choose Humboldt campaign, encouraging residents to keep dollars circulating locally.
As a rural business or nonprofit leader, you understand the unique challenges we face – rising costs, workforce shortages, the housing crunch, and more – and the impact of these on families and workplaces.
But our superpower lies in our strength of community and our ability to adapt using local solutions to keep businesses thriving. In addition to reviving the Choose Humboldt campaign, I'm looking forward to launching ongoing round tables for Greater Eureka Chamber members to explore how we can best work together for our mutual success.
Stay tuned for these and other opportunities to connect. Your success is important to us.
