On July 17, the Greater Eureka Chamber and The Acres are bringing back the Summer Fun Family Mixer for the third year in a row! This is a free event exclusively for members of the Greater Eureka Chamber, their employees, and their immediate families. Like traditional mixers, this is a great opportunity to connect with fellow business and community leaders —but this time, you don't have to leave the kids at home! We'll have fun activities for all ages, including:
- Sponsor booths highlighting career exploration opportunities for the kids
- Crafts facilitated by the Discovery Museum
- Touch-a-truck
- Petting zoo
- Face painting, balloon art, and a caricature artist
- Lawn games
- DJ Goldylocks keeping the vibe going
- And other fun activities for adults and kids alike
We will also offer an assortment of food for purchase options, including Chamber Member food trucks, hot dogs, and a beer garden.

Introducing Humboldt Dockside Market
The North Coast Growers’ Association and Ashley’s Seafood launched the Humboldt Dockside Market on Madaket Plaza in Eureka with a Chamber-sponsored ribbon cutting event.
Humboldt-based fishing vessel owners will set up canopies on Madaket Plaza every other Saturday from June to October to sell their catch to local and visiting customers.

Eureka's Favorite Friday Night Market Is Back!
The popular Eureka Friday Night Market returns this summer on Friday, June 6, and will run every Friday through August 29. From 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Old Town Eureka will transform into a lively celebration of Humboldt’s rich culture, creativity and community.
Hosted by Humboldt Made in collaboration with the City of Eureka, the North Coast Growers’ Association, and local partners, the Friday Night Market brings together the best of the region with live music, vendors, street food and more.

Humboldt Sponsors Celebrates a $3 Million Milestone
Humboldt Sponsors is celebrating a big milestone: Since 1971, the nonprofit has awarded more than $3 million in grants to local organizations that support Humboldt County Youth.
This year, Humboldt Sponsors distributed a total of $102,000 among 77 individual grants, bringing the total grant funds awarded to $3,040,000!

A Comedy for Our Times
Dell’Arte International presents an original adaptation of a comedy by Molière, Love’s the Best Doctor, at the 35th Annual Baduwa’t Festival.
Formerly known as the Mad River Festival, the Baduwa’t Festival is an enjoyable summer event celebrating the performing arts, music and connection. In Soulatluk, the Wiyot language, Baduwa’t is the name for what white settlers later called the Mad River.

Compass Community Credit Union Awards Scholarships to Local Students
Compass Community Credit Union has selected three high school seniors to each receive a $1,500 scholarship. Established in 2024, the Compass Community Credit Union Scholarship program supports students pursuing further education. Students were asked to provide several items, including an essay on how the nominee has helped to further the people-helping-people philosophy that guides credit unions.

Petrusha Law Giving Spotlight: Queer Humboldt
Stephanie Allen, Paralegal, a dedicated member of team Petrusha Law since opening its doors in 2015, has nominated Queer Humboldt to receive this month’s $1,000 donation as part of the firm’s “10 Years, $10,000 Thanks” campaign. Stephanie commented, “Growing up in this community in the 80s and 90s, it was difficult to realize I wasn’t the only queer person around. It warms my heart that Queer Humboldt is here to provide the things I didn’t have back then ... It’s super important for queer folx of all ages to know they are not alone, that community and resources are right here in our Humboldt backyard.”

Early Bird Registration Now Open for Regional Economic Development Summit
The annual Redwood Coast Region Economic Development Summit brings together changemakers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to foster innovation, collaboration, and regional growth.
This year’s theme, Harvesting Growth: Transforming Rural Economies, will spark fresh conversations around downtown revitalization, tourism, and innovative rural development, with a special focus on agri-tourism and the blue economy.
