Cooper Gulch Restoration Tour


Join the City of Eureka on Saturday, January 10th from 10-11am for a walking tour of the recently completed First Slough Fish Passage Project at Cooper Gulch Park. Participants will learn about the environmental benefits and will have the chance to ask questions.


Enjoy complimentary coffee and donuts at 10 a.m. before the tour starts at 10:15 a.m. Meet in the ball field by the skate park.

Wildfire Contracting 101: Vendor Requirements and Opportunities


Norcal Apex Accelerator is offering Wildfire Contracting 101. This no-cost training will walk you through the basics of working with the Forest Service’s Virtual Incident Procurement (VIPR) system and CAL FIRE’s Hired Equipment Program.

The show centers on the friendship between two-time Nobel Prize winner Marie Curie and engineer and social reformer Hertha Ayrton following the scandalous public revelation of Curie's affair after the death of her husband, Pierre.


The Half-Life of Marie Curie is a testament to the enduring strength found in female alliance and the quiet resolve required to keep one's purpose—and work—afloat amidst a sea of judgment.

Humboldt Sponsors Annual Grant Cycle Now Open


Humboldt Sponsors awards grants annually to local nonprofit, youth-related programs and organizations and is currently accepting applications for the 2026 grant cycle. All eligible Humboldt-based nonprofit organizations that provide services to local youth are invited to apply for grant funding.
