SUSTAINABILITY TEAM UPDATE
The City of Largo Sustainability Team held their quarterly meeting on September 7th to discuss current and future sustainability initiatives across the organization. Valerie Knight, HR Generalist, highlighted recent efforts by Human Resources to reduce printing by sharing benefits information electronically through the Notice of Deposit. Since 10 years of printing benefits posters can use the equivalent of one 200 year-old live oak tree and cost over $1500 annually, this effort supports the organization 's strategic focus on sustainability. Additionally, the team shared upcoming meetings and events and discussed potential topics for their 2019 project. The team's next project will be focused on Largo's recent commitment to the Ready for 100 Campaign, which sets a goal for the City to transition to 100% renewable energy by 2035. Visit     Largo.com/LEAP to learn more about Ready for 100 and Largo's other sustainability goals.
