The ECPL Re-Opens Children's Department After Renovations

The ECPL unveils new remodel of the Children's Department

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — The ECPL cut the ribbon on their new and improved Children's Department on Saturday, November 16th, 2024. The ceremony included remarks from Carlos Latimer, ECPL Executive Director, the ECPL Board of Trustee's President Carol Shaheed, and Dr. Mary Rice, East Cleveland City Schools Board President.


The new renovations are an interactive TV display, a built-in computer lab, comfortable chairs, and new technology to rent out, which includes a robot dog, robot boy, robot girl, and robot hand. They can be checked out by stopping by the Children's Department desk.


The ECPL would like to thank project managers ECPL Deputy Director, Theresa Flood, Rick Cooper, Chief of Facilities, and Eric Gonczy, Consultant. Another cudos goes to the ECPL Board of Trustees -- Carol Shaheed, President; Otis Mays, Vice President; Sheila Hunt-Sharpley, Secretary; Tyisha Blade, Member; Dr. MaryAnn Harris, Member; Dr. Joy Jordan, Member; and Nathan Paige, Member.
