EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio - Reading is fundamental, and so are libraries to the community. On May 25th, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM, Founder’s Day at the East Cleveland Public Library (ECPL) will be held. The ECPL was established in 1916. 108 years later, they celebrate their Founder’s Day annually by inviting members of the community for a fun day outside in the parking lot and green space.
This year, activities will include food, refreshments, local vendors, a bounce house, music, dancing, games, giveaways, free books, and Summer Reading sign-ups. This year’s Summer Reading kick-off includes the theme: Adventure Begins at Your Library. Each department of the library will have a table featuring a different country to expand the sense of adventure! The event is free to the community, so bring family, friends and neighbors.
“We are looking forward to Founder’s Day,” says Carlos Latimer, Executive Director of the ECPL. “We would like to formally invite the community to attend and have some fun.”
This event is in partnership with Cuyahoga Reads, a program to help fight learning loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic across the nine library systems in the county.
