EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio - The East Cleveland Public Library is excited to host the Black History 101 Mobile Museum at our institution for the second time. The museum will be on Tuesday, March 5th, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The exhibit will also feature guest speaker Dr. Khalid el-Hakim from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
Established by the visionary educator and scholar Dr. Khalid el-Hakim, the Black History 101 Mobile Museum stands as a renowned repository comprising over 10,000 original artifacts, spanning from the painful era of the trans-Atlantic slave trade to the vibrant culture of hip hop. Dr. el-Hakim, often likened to the "Schomburg of the Hip-Hop generation," exemplifies an unwavering dedication to preserving and advancing the profound legacy of the Black Museum Movement.
Patrons are invited to view the artifacts the museum has to offer as well as peruse the library. This event is free to attend and will be located in the Flewellen Room.
