EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio - Prepare to be amazed by the play "One More Time" as it sweeps the stage at the ECPL.
The story, written and directed by playwright Michael D. Fisher, follows the themes of grief, loss, resilience, and second chances. The performance will be held on Saturday, July 20th, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Greg L. Reese Performing Arts Center.
After surviving a fatal car crash that killed his entire family, a young Dwayne is raised by "Old Man" Fred, a close family friend. Fred, who assumes responsibility of Dwayne despite his severe health issues, offers him guidance in life. The clock is ticking: can Dwayne embrace this lesson before time runs out?
"It is not difficult to identify the many 'one more times' that I have neglected, overlooked and ignored," says Fisher. "To write and direct this piece with such an exceptionally talented cast is a blessing. It is a 'one more time' opportunity that I could not refuse!"
Michael D. Fisher has been a resident of Cleveland for over 40 years where he has honed his skills and proudly credits Karamu House Theater as a foundational contributor to his training. Among his many works as a playwright and director, Fisher presented "God Blocked It!" and "The Gift" before standing room only crowds at the Ohio Theater, Playhouse Square.
This one act play, lightly woven with music, dance and brilliant characters, combine to deliver a powerful message.
