Transition

The golf courses are changing with the warmer temperatures over the past week. We are into that time of year where the transition process from the cool season Ryegrass back to the warm season Bermuda grass is in full effect. There are some thin and bare areas where the Bermuda grass has not come fully back yet or may not come back at all. This can be a frustrating time for golfers and the maintenance staff. The maintenance staff will be working hard over the next couple of months to ensure we have good Bermuda coverage going into this fall's over-seed. You can plan on seeing the following on the golf courses over the coming weeks:

  • Increased watering (more wet areas)
  • Increased fertility applications
  • Transition sodding
  • Cultural activities to weak areas (slicing, aerification, top-dressing)

Bunker Sand Replacement Project

The golf maintenance team is continuing with the project on the SaddleBrooke course while it is closed. The team is working on one of the bunkers at the chipping green area. Just a reminder the sand will be extra soft for a while until it has had some more time to settle in. This project will be taking place on all 3 courses this year. Once all the sand is removed the team will inspect the drainage and make any necessary repairs to the bunker liner. Some of the bunker edges will also be repaired during this time. Any bunkers the team is working on will be marked as GROUND UNDER REPAIR.

2025 Summer/Fall Cart Rules In Effect

Cart Traffic Update

  • Entry Gates will be suspended for the summer and fall.
  • Exit Gates will remain and be used when exiting the turf towards the end of the hole.
  • Only 2 carts allowed on the turf at one time, switching carts throughout the hole is allowed.
  • "No Cart Zones" will remain in place. (Designated by yellow line)
  • Some holes may be closed to some or all traffic.
  • Please follow all posted signage.
  • Cart restrictions are based on playability and turf conditions.
  • Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

"No Cart Zone" Reminders

Example of "No Cart Zone" on Catalina #1

"No Cart Zones" are in effect on all courses open to cart traffic

All cart traffic is restricted in these areas. These areas will provide a visual yellow line that should not be crossed by any golf cart, including "Medical Flag Carts". This system will improve course safety and course conditioning.

Reminders:

  • A yellow line will designate the "NO CART ZONE" on each hole

  • The gates must still be used by all carts. The yellow line is not to be used to exit the fairway.

  • Fairway cart signs will designate the Exit Gate that should be used as the proper location to exit the fairway and return to the cart path.

  • Only medical flag carts have the ability to drive past the cart signs to the yellow line. They then must return and exit through the exit gate.

  • Regular cart traffic must exit through the exit gates at the cart signs.

  • Sad #2, Cat #5, Cat #6, and Cat #8 will not have lines due to limited space and/or steep slopes. All carts should remain on the path when around these specific green complexes or holes if it is a par 3.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to improve golf course safety and enhance course conditioning.
