👑This Sunday, Jan. 4th: Epiphany

Please join us this Sunday, January 4th, as we celebrate the visitation of the Magi to infant Jesus with crowns for all at both sermons. We would also like to remind everyone that after the service, there will be an Epiphany Party with a wide spread of treats (including Sugar and Gluten Free) at the Telsch residence. More information on that below.



🕊️Sunday, Jan. 11th: Baptism of the Lord

We hope to see you as we celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord Sunday, January 11th. This feast brings an end to the season of Christmas and ushers in Ordinary Time, lasting until the Tuesday before Lent. We welcome children, youth, and adults to receive the sacrament of Holy Baptism, a joyful entry into the life of faith and the family of the Church. Blood Drive


Just a reminder, St. Thomas will host a drive on Jan 8/2026, 2-7 in Taylor Hall.


This is the first of 12 monthly drives we will host in 2026; our drives through June are open for donation appointments now.


Also, there will be openings for volunteers to help register potential donors: If you can help, please contact Ken Sumner.

Needles and Threads:


The next meeting of The Needles and Threads Ministry will be on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 9AM - 12N. We will continue to work on outreach projects or projects you bring from home.

Ducks in a Row


Do You Have Your Ducks In A Row? Join us for a 6 session course designed to help you compile all the important information your loved ones will need if there is a time they may need to make decisions for you. The workbook (price discussed in link below) covers your personal information, health, finance, property, and final wishes. Class meets every other Friday beginning January 16, at 10:00 am. Formation

The Stories of Jesus


Join Pastor Dave Long during formation hour for an inspiring series to learn about the life and times of our Savior. Grow in faith and community each week during formation through thoughtful teaching and open discussion.

Book Study (meets in Classroom A)


The Book Study will continue discussing Sources of Strength, by Jimmy Carter.


Each Chapter stands alone; it is not necessary to have read the previous chapters. All are welcome even if you have not read or have the book.

Wired Word (meets in the Multipurpose Room)


Join us each week for Wired Word, where we explore current events in the news and connect them to scripture. This class offers timely and thought-provoking discussions that help deepen our understanding of both the world around us and the teachings of the Bible. Participants will receive the week’s topic, scripture, and discussion materials via email ahead of each week's meeting.

Agape Feast Weekly Meals


Agape Feast is an interdenominational, volunteer organization that supports and houses homeless individuals and families in Chesapeake through several programs. Join us in the Taylor Hall kitchen weekly on Wednesdays at 2:30 to help make meals.

Newsletter & Prayer Submission Deadlines


To help us prepare each week’s News from the Office (NFTO) in a timely and accurate way, please note the following deadlines:


  • NFTO announcements/materials – due Wednesdays by 12:00 p.m.
  • Prayers of the People – due Tuesdays by 4:00 p.m.


Submissions received after these times will be held for the following week’s NFTO. Names for the prayer list, if given after the deadline, will be verbally announced at Sunday's services. Thank you for helping us keep our communications clear and consistent!
