Automobile Theft Prevention
The best way to prevent automobile theft is to take away the thief's opportunity. Below are some tips to keep you and your belongings safe this summer.
Remove your valuables - Leave them at home if you don't need them. If you do need them, put them in your trunk before leaving your home.
Remove any identifying information - Take your license with you when you leave your car and lock up your vehicle registration and other vehicle specific information.
Lock it or Lose It! - Lock your car doors and close the windows.
Location - Choose a well lit parking area, were there are other cars parked close by.Notify parking security if you see anything that looks suspicious.
To report a theft, contact the Blue Springs Police Department at their non-emergency number (816) 228-0151.
