Farewell, Steve Willman
|
|
On Tuesday, July 11 City Administrator Eric Johnson, City staff and community members wished
Parks & Recreation Operations Manager Steve Willman farewell as he began his retirement after close to 20 years of service with the City.
Over the course of Steve's career, he contributed to countless projects throughout the City including the passage of the first ever Parks Sales Tax in Blue Springs, the Blue Springs Fieldhouse and securing the permanent location of the Veteran's Way Memorial in Pink Hill Park.
Steve has also been an instrumental staff liaison and member of the Public Art Commission. His dedication and enthusiasm for the Commission has led to a boom of public art displays that residents can enjoy in every corner of the City.
Thank you Steve for your dedication to Blue Springs and the lasting, positive impact you have made. Enjoy retirement!

News Happenings
Around Town
A bi-weekly message from your Blue Springs Mayor and City Council |
Hello and welcome to News Happenings Around

updates including information that's im
portant to you.
I am pleased to share that Blue Springs is still a City on the Move and on the Right Track! I recently had the pleasure of helping cutting the ribbon for Blue Springs' St. Luke's Multispecialty Clinic and you can read more about its opening in this edition.
You can also keep reading and join me in wishing farewell to Parks & Recreation Operations Manager Steve Willman and welcoming the new Chief Fire Executive of the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District.
Finally, I encourage those who are able to consider donating blood at the City's annual blood drive this August. Each unit collected can save a life!
As always, please continue sharing this timely publication and spreading the word about the good things in the City of Blue Springs.

St. Luke's Multispecialty Clinic Ribbon Cutting

Estes, M.D.; Saint Luke's Health System Senior Vice President of Hospital Operations Julie Quirin, Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City Director of Spiritual Wellness Rev. Marshall Scott; Saint Luke's Health System, System Director - Planning and Retail Services Taylor Warwick |
On Thursday, July 6, I had the pleasure speaking at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new St. Luke's Multispecialty Clinic located at 600 N.E. Adams Dairy Parkway. I was joined by Councilmen Jerry Kaylor, Susan Culpepper and Ron Fowler; St. Luke's Hospital leadership, the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce and community members for this celebratory event.
The groundbreaking ceremony for this location took place in May of 2016 and a little over one year later construction has been completed on this beautiful two-story, 36,000-square-foot facility. With this clinic located in Blue Springs, our community members will have easier access to treatment and streamlined care including access to
urgent care, lab, imaging, primary care and pharmacy as well as access to multiple Saint Luke's specialists.
We welcome St. Luke's to the Blue Springs community!
