Last weekend, our 27th Annual Animal Law Conference drew over 400 attendees, and our recent US v Oregon environmental law symposium was standing room only. This weekend, we cohost a stellar class action/MDL conference with the Pound Institute.Our new Center for Business Law and Innovation hosted its first Exchange speaker and Xperiential Workshop. Criminal Justice Reform Clinic Files Amicus Brief in Ninth Circuit
The Criminal Justice Reform Clinic (CJRC) filed a joint amicus brief in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in support of an Oregon Law Center lawsuit. Over 100 attorneys, tribal members, faculty and students attended the US v. Oregonsymposium on October 18, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the landmark decision that recognized the tribes’ rights to “participate meaningfully” in fishery management and recognized the importance of tribal sovereign control over their natural resources. Professor Mike Blumm and our alums at the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission, Rob Lothrop and Laurie Jordan planned the event.
