EMT/EMR Students To Receive Hands-On Training When
Idaho Army National Guard Helicopter Lands
Boise, ID -- 09/27/2022 --- Students enrolled at Boise School District's Dennis Technical Education Center will receive some important hands-on training when an Idaho Army National Guard Medevac Helicopter lands on the school campus next week.

The landing is scheduled for Wednesday, October 5th, 2022 at 9:00 a.m, on the field behind the DTEC Annex and Frank Church High School, 3608 S. Milwaukee Lane, Boise, 83709.

The purpose of this landing/demonstration is to support and educate students in Mr. Adam Ward’s Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) classes. The students will be able to witness and participate in supplemental training for their Landing Zone Officer Certificate, which is a part of the curriculum that teaches students how and why helicopters are used for medical air transport. 

The students will have the opportunity for hands-on instruction, discussion time with the pilot and onboard medics, inspect and view medical equipment, and have a presentation delivered by the military members onsite. In all, the students will have approximately 3.5 hours of training time with the Idaho Army National Guard members and the helicopter combined.

  • When: Wednesday, October 5, 2022, 9:00 a.m.
  • Where: On the field behind the DTEC Annex and Frank Church High School, 3608 S. Milwaukee Lane, Boise, 83709.

The local news media is invited to attend and cover this demonstration. Local news media are advised to be in place to cover the helicopter's landing between 8:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.
