ALF's Larry Ebner Receives Prestigious "Excellence In Education" Award

Atlantic Legal Foundation Executive Vice President & General Counsel Lawrence S. Ebner is the 2024 recipient of DRI’s Tom Segalla Excellence In Education Award. The Award is given to a “member of DRI whose contributions through legal scholarship exemplify the highest educational standards of the organization and further its mission of improving the skills of the defense practitioner.”

DRI President Anne M. Talcott and Immediate Past President Patrick J. Sweeney presented the Award to Larry at the DRI Annual Meeting Closing Celebration in Seattle on October 18. DRI is the largest bar association of civil defense attorneys and in-house counsel.

ALF Chairman & President Hayward Dan Fisk commented that "Larry's award is very well deserved. His authorship of more than 70 amicus curiae briefs for ALF since joining our organization in September 2020 has helped educate the nation's appellate courts on a wide variety of legal issues, all in the interest of civil justice and the rule of law."

Larry has been active in DRI for more than 15 years. He served as volunteer chair of the 16,000-member organization's Center for Law and Public Policy during 2023 and 2024. He previously served DRI as chair of the Amicus Committee, publications chair of the Appellate Advocacy Committee, and Board member of the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence.

Larry, a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School, is an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. He also serves as chair of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel's Appellate Law Section.
