Beaumont, CA - In August 2020, the Beaumont City Council launched a Small Business Assistance Grant Program to provide $3,000 one-time grants to qualified small businesses that could demonstrate losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 24 grants were awarded during the initial launch leaving a balance of $70,069 in the program budget.
On Tuesday, January 19, the Beaumont City Council approved a second round of grants to allocate the remaining funds. The grant program remains targeted towards for-profit businesses of 15 or fewer employees who have a physical location in Beaumont. The small business grants are intended to promote business sustainability, job retention, and the overall economic preservation of small businesses in the city.
Applications for Round 2 of the Small Business Assistance Grant will be accepted Monday, February 1 through Friday, February 19 at 12 pm. Grants will be awarded on a non-competitive basis with first priority given to those businesses who did not receive funding in round 1. A drawing for funds will take place should qualifying applications exceed available funds. For more information and to apply, please visit BeaumontCA.gov/Grant.
