June 21, 2022

The City of Edmonton and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 30 (CUPE) have agreed to the terms of a new collective agreement. Yesterday, Edmonton City Council voted to ratify the terms of the proposed agreement, which was the final step of the bargaining process. CUPE members voted to ratify the terms on June 16.

“We are very pleased to have finalized an agreement that balances the needs of our 3,600 CUPE employees with our commitment to be fiscally responsible,” said Deputy City Manager Kim Armstrong. “The employees included in this agreement provide excellent service to Edmontonians and this agreement will enable those efforts to continue.”

The terms of the three-year agreement (2020-2023) include a general wage adjustment of zero per cent in 2021, one per cent in 2022 and two per cent in 2023.

The City will begin to implement the agreement effective immediately.
