The City of Edmonton’s Landlord and Tenant Advisory Board (LTAB) is serving clients from its new location at 6606-127 Avenue. The modern location provides increased space for client and staff interaction, free parking and greater accessibility via LRT, public transit and main roads.
Moving the LTAB offices to the Fort Road area also contributes to the revitalization of the neighbourhood by bringing new people and services to the community.
Judy Downey, General Supervisor of the Landlord and Tenant Advisory Board, says the LTAB staff and clients appreciate the new location, which has been updated with the kind of technology now available in the City’s new Edmonton Tower.
“Our clients love coming here and our staff is very happy with the clean, modern surroundings. Our updated equipment and technology allows us to better serve our clients.”
The LTAB staff celebrated their new location with a barbeque on Monday, June 26 for their business neighbours in Balwin. The barbeque, which ran over the lunch hour, included tours of the building.
LTAB provides advice and information to residential tenants and landlords to help them be aware of rights and obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act and the Mobile Homes Sites Tenancies Act. Help available includes: customized public education workshops for tenants, landlords, property managers and outreach workers, a Landlord course and mediation services to help resolve tenancy disputes and issues. They serve an average of 31,000 clients a year.
