January 22, 2020

The City of Edmonton has entered into a one-year agreement with a local food service provider for William Hawrelak Park.

The City has awarded the contract to Culina to Go to provide food operations at the park beginning in February 2020.

“We recognize the importance of working with local providers and we are excited to have Culina operating out of the park,” said Rhonda Norman, Director of River Valley and Horticulture Facilities. “This decision keeps in mind Fresh: Edmonton’s Food and Urban Agriculture Strategy.”

“The Culina Family of restaurants is looking forward to working with the City in this amazing location in the River Valley to bring local food into one of Edmonton's busiest parks,” said Brad Lazarenko, Culinary Director and Owner of Culina Family of Restaurants.

Culina will be operating out of a portion of the Hawrelak Park pavilion beside the lake. The public will continue to have access to the pavilion including seating, bathrooms, lockers and skate change area without having to purchase from Culina.
