The City of Edmonton is pleased to announce that local restaurant organization Robert Spencer Hospitality Group has been selected to provide food operations at municipal golf courses.

Starting in April 2020, Edmontonians can enjoy a new dining experience that includes a wide range of local, fresh food and seasonal menu items at Rundle, Victoria and Riverside Golf Courses.

“Robert Spencer Hospitality Group has a great reputation in the city and serves notable, handcrafted food at two well-known local restaurants, Workshop Eatery and Woodshed Burgers,” said Rhonda Norman, Director of River Valley and Horticulture Facilities. “We are so pleased to have them join our facilities to further enhance the golfer experience at our beautiful and scenic courses in the River Valley.”

“We are excited at the opportunity to partner with the City of Edmonton to bring a dining experience to our public golf courses that match the beauty of the backdrops they call home,” said Chef Paul Shufelt. “We aim to continue the work we have done with Workshop Eatery and Woodshed Burgers to highlight great local ingredients and the flavours of the season while providing warm and genuine hospitality to our guests. In the months ahead we look forward to turning these venues into year-round dining and event destinations.”

The City of Edmonton is committed to supporting local business and sees this opportunity as a positive way to showcase homegrown talent and entrepreneurship.

“Edmonton has a vibrant food and hospitality scene, with incredible local food entrepreneurs,” said Jeff Chase, Director of Local Economy. “We're excited by this opportunity to showcase some of what Edmonton has to offer, in a new way.”
