Community Invited to Mayor Pro Tem Victoria Baca's Memorial Service at Civic Center Amphitheater
MORENO VALLEY, CA (October 12, 2021) -- Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez, the Moreno Valley City Council, and the family of Mayor Pro Tem Victoria Baca are inviting the community to a celebration of the late Council Member's life on Monday, October 18 at 3 p.m. at the Civic Center Amphitheater.

"Victoria Baca left a legacy that is unmatched in Moreno Valley," said Mayor Gutierrez. "Her compassion, perseverance, and dedication to public service inspired people across the City. I invite everyone to pay respects and celebrate Victoria's life at our beautiful Civic Center Amphitheater, a venue she was instrumental in bringing to Moreno Valley."

Mayor Pro Tem Baca passed away on Wednesday, October 6 after battling a long illness. She was a tireless advocate of education, unity, inclusion, job creation, and fiscal stability in Moreno Valley. She was the first Latina to be elected to the Moreno Valley City Council, as well as the first Latina elected to the Moreno Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees.

All are welcome to attend the memorial service, which will take place from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The memorial service will also be broadcast live on MV3.

The Civic Center Amphitheater is located at 14075 Frederick Street at the Moreno Valley Civic Center. Community members attending the memorial service are encouraged to park at the Amphitheater through the entrance on Veterans Way.

La Comunidad está invitada al Servicio Conmemorativo de la Alcaldesa Provisional Victoria Baca en el Anfiteatro del Centro Cívico
MORENO VALLEY, CA (12 de octubre de 2021) -- El alcalde Yxstian Gutiérrez, el Concejo Municipal de Moreno Valley y la familia de la Alcaldesa Provisional Victoria Baca están invitando a la comunidad a una celebración de la vida de la fallecida Concejal el lunes 18 de octubre a las 3 p.m. en el Anfiteatro del Centro Cívico.

"Victoria Baca dejó un legado inigualable en Moreno Valley", dijo el Alcalde Gutiérrez. "Su compasión, perseverancia y dedicación al servicio público inspiro a personas de toda la ciudad. Los invito a rendir homenaje y respetos a celebrar la vida de Victoria en nuestro hermoso Anfiteatro del Centro Cívico, un lugar al cual ella fue instrumental de traer a la ciudad de Moreno Valley".

La Alcaldesa Provisional Baca falleció el miércoles 6 de octubre después de luchar contra una larga enfermedad. Fue una defensora incansable de la educación, la unidad, la inclusión, la creación de empleo y la estabilidad fiscal en Moreno Valley. Fue la primera latina en ser elegida para el Concejo Municipal de Moreno Valley, así como la primera latina elegida para la Mesa Directiva del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Moreno Valley.

Todos están invitados a asistir al servicio conmemorativo, que tendrá lugar a partir de las 3 p.m. hasta las 5:30 p.m. El servicio conmemorativo también se transmitirá en vivo por MV3.

El Anfiteatro del Centro Cívico está ubicado en el 14075 de la calle Frederick en el Centro Cívico de Moreno Valley. Los miembros de la comunidad que asisten al servicio conmemorativo se les anima a estacionar en el Anfiteatro a través de la entrada en Veterans Way.
