MORENO VALLEY, CA (October 12, 2021) -- Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez, the Moreno Valley City Council, and the family of Mayor Pro Tem Victoria Baca are inviting the community to a celebration of the late Council Member's life on Monday, October 18 at 3 p.m. at the Civic Center Amphitheater.
"Victoria Baca left a legacy that is unmatched in Moreno Valley," said Mayor Gutierrez. "Her compassion, perseverance, and dedication to public service inspired people across the City. I invite everyone to pay respects and celebrate Victoria's life at our beautiful Civic Center Amphitheater, a venue she was instrumental in bringing to Moreno Valley."
Mayor Pro Tem Baca passed away on Wednesday, October 6 after battling a long illness. She was a tireless advocate of education, unity, inclusion, job creation, and fiscal stability in Moreno Valley. She was the first Latina to be elected to the Moreno Valley City Council, as well as the first Latina elected to the Moreno Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees.
All are welcome to attend the memorial service, which will take place from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The memorial service will also be broadcast live on MV3.
The Civic Center Amphitheater is located at 14075 Frederick Street at the Moreno Valley Civic Center. Community members attending the memorial service are encouraged to park at the Amphitheater through the entrance on Veterans Way.
