Dooley Earns Certified Association Executive (CAE) Credential

RESTON, VA, January 29, 2024 - ITEEA is proud to announce that Kelly Dooley, Executive Director/CEO, has earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential through the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE)!

The CAE credential is the highest professional recognition for association executives who demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to managing an association in today's challenging environment. To earn the CAE, one must meet specific eligibility requirements, including five years of association work experience and 100 hours of qualified professional development hours, then pass a rigorous, four-hour, 200-question examination. The scenario-based assessment validates application of knowledge gained in eight domains: Governance, Executive Leadership, Organizational Strategy, Operations, Business Development, Member and Stakeholder Engagement and Management, Advocacy, and Marketing and Communications.

Kelly’s pursuit of this credential demonstrates her commitment to excellence and professionalism in the field of association management and uniquely equips her to continue leading ITEEA, now in her third year in the role. She joins a network of more than 4,000 CAEs who share her passion for advancing the association profession. After learning of her passing results, Kelly shared, “I’m happy to have earned this credential after much hard work, but more importantly, I’ve truly valued the opportunity to expand my knowledge and learn even more about association management so that I’m best equipped to lead ITEEA into the future. As someone committed to continued growth and lifelong learning, I am so appreciative of the ITEEA Board’s full support in my pursuit of this professional goal!”
