We are very excited to announce that Coach Derek Wimpee has accepted the position of Assistant Director of Coaching.
Coach Wimpee was born and raised in Arizona, where he played the bulk of his soccer career. He then moved to the Boise area 5 years ago with his wife Amanda Wimpee. They have two daughters, Taylor Wimpee 10 and Riley Wimpee 4.
Derek Currently holds a USC Director of Coaching Diploma, AC Chievo Verona Coaching Diploma, USSF National "E" License, and is currently pursuing his USSF National "D" License.
Coach Wimpee has been coaching for Real Soccer Club since the Spring of 2016. In his time with Real, he has been involved as the U16/U17 Girls Co-Head Coach Heat Sevilla, Real Middleton U10 Girls team, both Real Middleton and Real Boise youth academy, and is currently coaching the U14 Girls Team Malaga Fire. This Spring, he will be coaching also the U19G team Heat Sevilla.
In addition, Coach Wimpee is the assistant head coach of the Treasure Valley Community College woman's team in Ontario.
Derek said "I'm looking forward to this opportunity. Coaching kids and working along side other coaches has always been a true passion of mine. I love helping kids grow and develop into the sport, by teaching them life lessons and goals through the game of soccer. It's going to be a fun adventure working with all the coaching staff and players this upcoming year. I'm ready for all the challenges ahead and I am looking forward to helping the soccer community here in Idaho."
Coach Juanjo Carmona, the only DOC in Real's storied history, said "I am very excited to have Derek working directly with me in both the academy and competitive programs. Our club is growing tremendously and now with two directors we can provide more guidance, clinics and in essence, support, to our licensed and volunteer coaches."
