SHREVEPORT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PRESENTS FREE OUTDOOR CONCERTS ON OCTOBER 24 AND 25

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2020, SHREVEPORT, LA - The Shreveport Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is presenting two free outdoor concerts on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25 at Betty Virginia Park in Shreveport. Both concerts are open to the public and are sponsored in part by Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation. Seating will be socially distanced and masks are required.

Free Outdoor Family Concert: Hoedown for Strings

STRAD violinists from Centenary Suzuki School

This free outdoor concert will be fun for the whole family. Music includes Aaron Copland’s Hoedown for strings, Béla Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances, plus works by J.S. Bach, Grieg, Vitali and more.

MOZART Serenade, No. 10, K. 361, “Gran Partita”

This sublime effort by a young Mozart was featured in the movie “Amadeus” and will match the pastoral setting in Betty Virginia Park to a T. This rarely performed multi-movement serenade features the outstanding winds of the SSO. Free and open to the public.
