REDWOOD CITY, CALIF.—
REDWOOD CITY, CALIF.----
The Port of Redwood City announced today the launch of a new agency website, reflecting the Port’s position as a leading west coast foreign trade agency and maritime economic engine serving Silicon Valley. The website launch aligns with a successful rebranding effort and reinforces the Port’s marketing, communications and public transparency.
“The new website provides a clean modern design, reflecting the Port of Redwood City’s strategic location in Silicon Valley and the Port’s position as an economic driver for the region,” said Lorianna Kastrop, Port Commission chair. “Many thanks to the website working group, comprised of a small team of Port Commissioners, Port staff members, and our website design team. The website seeks to highlight the Port’s economic importance, furthers our goals of community outreach and transparency, and provides a much more robust website presence to build on the Port’s operational success and better support our customers, stakeholders, partners and local community. We’d love to hear from the community about the new website and encourage everyone to take a look at

The website redesign began this summer with the nomination of the Port Commission’s new chair, the appointment of the Port’s new executive director, and the engagement of Redwood City’s Citywide Communications division to lead the Port’s branding, communications and marketing efforts. This past spring, the Port contracted with the City’s Communications division to develop a communications and marketing plan for the agency. The website launch follows a series of new marketing initiatives.
The new website design features a robust search engine and interactive elements to provide easy navigation, including new fact sheets, a new facility map offering details about major Port tenants, land-uses and public amenities. It also includes new opportunities to stay connected with the Port through social media, e-newsletters, news updates and hot topics.
Earlier this year, the Port announced their best year in operational history, and this week, the Port launched a strategic visioning process to establish new short-term and long-term strategic priorities to help further the Port’s operations and financial success. The new website seeks to build on the Port’s current operational success and furthers the Port’s communications and marketing priorities.
The Port of Redwood City is the only deep-water port in the South San Francisco Bay, with a channel depth of 30 feet mean lower low water (MLLW), offering three deep-water berths and five wharves to support international foreign trade and maritime activities of the Silicon Valley region and west coast of the United States.
